The field editor

Place, label, and leave nobody unable to sign.

The third step decides whether the signer understands what to do. You pick a field from the palette and click on the page to place it, always for whichever signer is selected at the top. That selector is the most common mistake: five fields placed in a row for the wrong person.

The fields that exist

  • The ones the signer completes: «Signature», «Initials», «Text», «Checkbox», «Number», «Date to pick» and «List».
  • The ones that arrive with their data already filled in and can be corrected: «Name», «Email» and «Phone».
  • The one the system fills in on signing: «Date».

The label matters more than it looks

Every field carries a «Label», and it is not decorative: it is what shows inside the field, what the signer is prompted with when their turn comes, and the error text if they leave it blank. «Your license number» works; «field 3» gets you a phone call.

List fields need at least two options, and any field can be marked required. On the ones that fill themselves, the on-screen help reminds you the system handles it.

«Suggest fields»

It analyses the document geometry and proposes the signature blocks it recognizes; if your brokerage has AI on, it refines them too. When it recognizes nothing it tells you, instead of inventing something. Always review what it proposes: it is right often, but it does not sign for you.

The validation that saves you

You cannot send if a signer ended up with no signature field, and the screen names who is missing. And if the document genuinely has no signatures — an information sheet, a questionnaire — you have to declare it by ticking a box: it goes out as a fill-only document.

Tip: Place the fields at 100% zoom and unhurried. A signature box half off the printed line invalidates nothing, but it tells your client exactly how much care went into the document you are asking them to sign.
