Your number and the inbox
Calls, SMS and WhatsApp in one thread.
In development. Telephony is complete, but turning it on is not immediate: registering your number with the US carriers is a regulated filing measured in weeks. Lessons 05 and 06 explain it before you start.
Everyone on the team gets their own work number, and everything in or out of it — call, SMS or WhatsApp — lands in the lead's thread. That is the whole module in one sentence. What follows is how you turn it on and how you use it.
Activation takes weeks, not minutes
Before the first message goes out, your business has to be registered with the US carriers. It is called A2P and it is a regulated filing: it exists so carriers know who is sending commercial messages and can cut off whoever is not registered. We do not control it and there is no way to speed it up.
The wizard walks you through it and marks each step as it gets approved, so you always know where you are. The form is filled once, and before submitting it the platform checks that your website meets what the carriers ask for: it is the most common reason for rejection and it gets caught up front, not after a three-week wait.
The inbox
Two panes: threads on the left, the conversation on the right. A thread mixes channels on one timeline, so Tuesday's missed call and Wednesday's WhatsApp read one after the other, the way they happened.
Along the top, the Messages / Calls switch and your usage badges. Those badges show what is LEFT, not what you spent: "12 of 300" makes you do the subtraction in your head and does not answer the question you are actually asking.
When the caller is someone from your agency, their name shows instead of the number. The number is still there in the detail. A number from another agency shows raw, like any stranger.
Calling and being called
- You can call from the browser with the dialer, without picking up any phone.
- Incoming calls ring in the app. If you set up forwarding and do not answer, it rolls to your cell.
- If you do not take that either, it goes to voicemail. **Voicemail is stored as audio in the thread**, not as text: we would rather you heard the caller's tone than read an approximate transcript.
- Call recording only works if you deliberately turn it on. It is never on by default.
What happened on the call
When you hang up, one button to classify the call: answered, no answer, left voicemail, asked not to be called. It is what turns the dialer into data — without it there is no way to know which list responds and which does not.
Two details built for the car: the list of options comes from the server, so the agency can change it without waiting on a new app release; and reclassifying overwrites instead of erroring, because behind the wheel you hit the button next to the one you meant all the time.
